Learn what makes tsunamis grow

Process

1.  Day 1: Before you begin, each group member must individually complete a waves review by following the steps laid out in the following page.

2.  Days 2&3: Meet together as a group and identify each group member's role.  Then link to your specific task page below and complete the research you are responsible for.  You should probably meet as a team at least once a day to collaborate.  You will be solely responsible for researching your area though; you are the expert for your group, so take notes and be thorough!

3.  Day 4: Meet back as a group again and start planning your movie.  For your educational movie you may actually film using a digital camera from the library or you may record a verbal commentary on a series of drawings, maps, and pictures you put together.  Regardless, you must submit an outline of your script ahead of time and have it looked over by your teacher.  Templates are provided below for both the movie and the Flowgram.  Fill out the appropriate outlines/scripts and turn them in before filming after you decide which medium you will use.

4.  Day 5: Digital cameras and microphones are available in the library.  We will meet there with the librarian on the final day for her to help us with filming or recording.

5. Day 6: Your group will show and pitch your movie to the other members of the class.  You will also provide each other with feedback and fill out "Team Member Surveys" for your group members.  The final movies will be posted in a closed group on YouTube and linked to from this page so that family members and other students may watch them over and over.
