Introduction
This WebQuest is designed to be used over a 6-8 day period in a high school physics classroom. It reviews general information about waves and then guides student through a video project on tsunamis. The students start in groups of four and divide up tasks into pre-designed categories: physicist, oceanographic engineer, historian, and reporter. They then do individual research with pre-set sources over a two day period, checking in often with their group. The second half of the project is spent on collaboration with group members during which time the students share their research, synthesize the material they have taken notes on, and write a creative script for a video that they film on the second to last day of the project. The last day is dedicated to viewing the other students' work and giving each other feedback.
